In recognition of the passing of Darnell Wynn, OCAB would like to take the opportunity to wish her family and friends our most deepest symphony and heartfelt condolences.
Darnell formed friendships and allegiances with OCAB in 2013. A chance meeting at an overseas facility, during medical treatment – she met one of the founding members Denise Richardson. They discussed the need for a heightened awareness in Bermuda on ovarian cancer. OCAB was later formed by the founding members who moved the vision to a charitable cause. Darnell played an intricate role in assisting OCAB with its initiative to spread awareness of this silent killer disease. Darnell was particularly instrumental in assisting OCAB with its inaugural 2014 5K Devoye Darrell Break the Silence walk/run. This race is now held annually in each September. Darnell advocated tirelessly with the OCAB members during the initial launching and promoting of the 5K, she assisted M.A.C in organizing the event as race directors for the 5K and further participated by running and completing the 5K. Darnell also participated in OCAB’s awareness forums and was openly and publicly passionate about educating people about ovarian cancer and the hope to one day find a cure for it.
OCAB takes this moment to salute the beautiful, the bold, the courageous Darnell Wynn, who will always and forever be, a WINNER in our book. We will miss your bright light. Rest in peace our phenomenal friend. Your fight continues in the veins of the OCAB movement.
May the grace and comfort of God’s embrace, bring peace and solace to the Wynn family.
